The Okaloosa County Health Department is responsible for determining the risk of health and the closing of the beach. If they error, it will be on the side of safety. The County does not want to put anyone's health at risk. The County may determine that small amounts of tar on the beach are not a health risk. If our beach is closed by the county health department, Chateau La Mer II will only charge a $20 cancellation fee to guests that are due to arrive and cancels their trip. If the county health department closes our beach the week before the guest is to arrive, then Chateau La Mer II will only charge a $20 cancellation fee, however this policy will only be for the week before arrival. Any cancellation made prior to your arrival, other than the above, is subject to our regular $100 loss of your prepayment. You will not, at this time, lose your total $300 prepayment or be charged for the total rental fee. If a guest is already in Destin and has to cut their trip short and leave early due to the county health department closing our beach, then Chateau La Mer II will pro-rate the unused days and give a refund for the unused days only. If Chateau La Mer II cancels a reservation due to oil on our beaches, no cancellation fee will be charged. We would only do this if it is necessary to protect our owners from oil intrusion to their units.

Are you on the Beach?Chateau La Mer II is located in the Crystal Beach area of Destin. The old beach road runs so close to the beach that most condos, as we are, are located across this road from the beach. As we are located in a cul-de-sac on 5 fully landscaped acres, there is no through traffic or road noise. As a guest, you will be provided with a key to our locked beach walk. Back to Top
Where in Destin are you Located?We are located on the old beach road (Scenic Hwy 98) in the Crystal Beach area of Destin. We are about half way between downtown Destin (Big Kahuna's) and Sandestin (Silver Sands Outlet Mall). We are across the street from Captain Dave's Seafood Restaurant and in the newest, fastest growing part of Destin. Many new restaurants and shops! Back to Top

When were you built ?Our resort was built in the mid-eighties. This allowed our resort to be located on 5 acres and for our units to be so spacious. Our owners are very proud of the resort, and keep both it and their units fully maintained and up-to-date. Each unit is individually owned and owners are required to update their units annually. All units are located on the first or second floor, with vaulted ceilings in second floor units. Back to Top
Do Children have trouble getting to the Beach?Not at all! We have families with small children going back and forth to the beach all day. If you have coolers or chairs, you can drive and unload at the beach walk, then park back at the resort. Back to Top
What if our condo has a problem?We have on-site management during the week that can quickly help you with any problems. Two telephone numbers are provided next to the door of the office if you should have a problem on weekends or at night. We also provide nightly security patrols of the property during season. What do we need to bring?All units are fully equipped. All units have VCR's, so you may want to bring your children's favorite tapes. If you use a hair dryer, you need to bring your own. We ask that you not use our towels on the beach. You may bring your own or purchase them here. Destin has many value priced shops for beach towels, bathing suits, sunscreen for our tropical sun zone, tee shirts, flip-flops etc. You may wish to bring laundry detergent to use in our coin laundry. How do we make reservations?Reservations can be made by booking on-line 24 hours a day by clicking on the Availability / Book link at the top of the web pages. You may also book by calling 800-331-8907 Monday through Friday, 8 to 4 central. We require a credit card to secure the reservation. This card is charged a $300 rental prepayment that is deducted from the rental amount due at check-in. If you cancel more than 30 days prior to your arrival date, we will credit your card $200 ( you lose a $100 cancellation fee). If you cancel less than 30 days prior to your arrival date, you will lose the $300 prepayment. If you cancel with-out emergency documentation less than 14 days prior to your arrival - you will be charged the full rental rate.. Back to Top
How do we cancel a reservation?We require a credit card (Visa, Master Card or Discovery) to make a reservation. You will be charged $300 which will be applied to your rental fee. We will charge a $100 processing fee if you cancel more than 30 days prior to your arrival date (your credit card which had a $300 prepayment charged when your reservation was made will be credited $200). If you cancel between 14 and 30 days prior to your arrival date, you will lose the $300 deposit. If you cancel within 14 days of your arrival date, you will be charged the full rental fee. What are the bedding arrangements? Most of our one bedroom condos have either a king or two double beds in the bedroom and a queen sofa sleeper in the living room. Units sleep 4. Most of our two bedroom condos have a king in the master bedroom, two double beds in the guest bedroom and a queen sofa sleeper in the living room. Units sleep 6.
